Mallorca is one of those destinations where the landscape constantly surprises you. Beyond the beaches, the island is full of dramatic mountain roads, coastal cliffs and scenic viewpoints that make every drive an experience of its own.
During our time on the island, chasing viewpoints became one of our favorite things to do. Some were easy roadside stops, while others required a winding drive or a short walk to reach.
In this guide, we are sharing the viewpoints and scenic spots that impressed us the most and are absolutely worth visiting while exploring Mallorca.
Cap de Formentor 🌊
Cap de Formentor, at the northern tip of the island, is one of the most iconic viewpoints in Mallorca.
The drive out along the peninsula is spectacular in itself, with sharp cliffs dropping into the sea on both sides. At the end, the lighthouse and surrounding views make it feel like the edge of the island.
It is especially beautiful in the softer light of early morning or late afternoon.
Mirador Es Colomer 🔭
Not far from Formentor, Mirador Es Colomer is one of the best places to take in the dramatic northern coastline.
From the viewing platform you look out over steep cliffs, a small rocky island and the deep blue sea below. It is an easy stop along the road, but the views feel truly grand.
This was one of the most memorable coastal panoramas we found on the island.
Sa Calobra & Torrent de Pareis 🌋
The road down to Sa Calobra is famous for a reason, winding dramatically through the mountains in a series of tight turns.
At the bottom, the gorge of Torrent de Pareis opens up between towering cliffs where the mountains meet the sea. Both the journey and the destination make this one of the most unforgettable spots on the island.
It is well worth taking your time on the drive to enjoy the views along the way.
Port de Sóller ☀️
The bay of Port de Sóller is one of the most picturesque spots on the west coast.
The horseshoe shaped harbor, surrounded by mountains, looks especially beautiful from the viewpoints along the coastal road. Watching the light change over the bay toward the end of the day was a highlight for us.
It is a lovely place to combine a scenic view with a relaxed evening by the water.
Serra de Tramuntana & Valldemossa 🌿
The entire Serra de Tramuntana mountain range is full of scenic viewpoints, and the drive through it is an experience in itself.
Around the village of Valldemossa in particular, the combination of stone villages, terraced hillsides and mountain backdrops creates some of the most beautiful scenery on the island.
It is the kind of area where it is worth stopping often, as almost every turn reveals another view.
